October 9, 2026. Ghostnote today released five new embroidered beanies for the people who make music: the -14 LUFS Beanie, the Mute / Solo Beanie, the REC Beanie, the Ghostnote Logo Beanie and the 4AM Sessions Beanie. All five are black, cuffed, one size, and available now in the beanie collection, which grows to twelve designs with this drop.

Winter is coming, and control rooms run cold. The new line is built around the details people in the studio see every day: the record light, the buttons on a channel strip, a loudness number, and the hour most sessions end.

The flagship: -14 LUFS

The drop is led by the -14 LUFS Beanie. LUFS (loudness units relative to full scale) is how mixing and mastering engineers measure perceived loudness, and -14 is the level Spotify turns tracks to by default. Spotify states it plainly in its loudness normalization guide for artists: tracks are adjusted to -14 dB LUFS, according to the ITU 1770 standard. Anyone who has argued about whether a master is loud enough knows the number. Our guide to how loud a rap master should be goes deeper on what it means for a release.
